VISAKHAPATNAM: A weeklong music festival of the legendary singer Padmasri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao will be held at Gurajada Kalakshetram at Siripuram from Thursday to December 10. The programme is being organised by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) in association with Sharathchandra Cultural and Social Service Trust and Presidency Group. T. Sharathchandra, a popular singer of Padmasri Ghantasala’s songs would be presenting the songs and music on the all the days. As a continuation of the weeklong festival, Sharathchandra Trust would install a statue of the legendary singer at Ghantasala Smaraka Peetham at Lankapeta in Srikakulam district and the Kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateswara would be performed on the lines of Tirumala. VB Saikrishna Yachendra (Venkatagiri Raja), Saluru Vasurao, Ghantasala Ratna Kumar, son of the legendary singer, comedian Padmanabham, veteran heroines Krishna Kumari and Anjali Devi, literary stalwart Garikapati Narasimha Rao, actor couple Ravi Kondala Rao and Radha Kumari and senior cine journalist S.V. Rama Rao would attend the programme. The festival is open to all music lovers. The programme would be conducted from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on all the days.
