TN in line for a double

Chennai: Tamil Nadu reached both the boys’ and girls’ finals of the sub-junior National volleyball in Jammu on Tuesday. Tamil Nadu’s boys’ and girls’ teams recorded straight-set wins over Karnataka in their respective semifinals.

The results: Boys: Semifinals: Tamil Nadu bt Karnataka 25-16, 25-7, 25-19; Uttar Pradesh bt Kerala 25-23, 26-24, 25-14. Quarterfinals: Tamil Nadu bt Jammu & Kashmir 25-14, 26-24, 25-16; Karnataka bt Punjab 25-19, 25-23, 25-13; Uttar Pradesh bt Andhra Pradesh 23-25, 25-18, 25-9, 25-16; Kerala bt Manipur 25-12, 26-24, 25-13.

Girls: Semifinals: West Bengal bt Uttar Pradesh 25-18, 25-20, 25-17; Tamil Nadu bt Karnataka 25-7, 25-16, 25-18.
