Harassment case: proceedings transferred

CHENNAI: The case relating to alleged harassment of a woman passenger aboard by a former Kerala Minister, currently on at the Judicial Magistrate Court in Alandur, has been transferred to a Sriperumbudur court.
When examination of witnesses in the case relating to the alleged harassment of the woman passenger aboard a Chennai - Kochi flight in August 2006 by P.J.Joseph, former Minister for Public Works of Kerala began at the Alandur court on Tuesday, N.Ramanathan, the Judicial Magistrate, said there was an announcement to be made.
He said the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Chengalpattu had instructed that the Joseph case be transferred to the Sriperumbudur court. Fol lowing this, all the files relating to the case would be tran sferred to Sriperumbudur.
The date relating to further examinations of the witnesses will be decided when the case comes up for hearing at the Sriperumbudur court, Mr. Ramanathan said.
Mr. Joseph had allegedly misbehaved with Lakshmi Gopakumar, a television personality, while they were travelling aboard a flight to Kochi from Chennai. Examination of witnesses had already commenced.
