VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has introduced a new package from Visakhapatnam to Papikondalu via Bhadrachalam. The road-cum-river cruise package will start from December 5. “Two special AC buss have been acquired by the corporation, each at the cost of Rs.32 lakhs, for the cruise package. This will be a three nights and two days package,” APTDC divisional manager P. Jeevan Prasad said here at a press meet. ScheduleThe tour starts at 9 p.m. from Vizag on day one and reaches Bhadrachalam the next morning. Accommodation facilities will be provided at APTDC’s Haritha Hotel there. Local sight seeing includes visit to Ramalayam, Parnasala and Dhyanamandiram. On day three, the tour starts from Bhadrachalam to Jeediguppa followed by the boat ride at Papikondalu. Breakfast, lunch and evening snacks will be provided on the boat for tourists. The boat ride will be from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and tourists will start for Vizag at 9 p.m. from Bhadrachalam. The tariffs for an adult is Rs.2,000 (AC) and Rs.1,700 (non-AC) and for a child Rs.1,600 (AC) and Rs.1,360 (non-AC). APTDC has also upgraded its heritage city tour by introducing AC bus facility. The corporation recorded a 26 per cent rise in tourist inflow during the period between April and November this year. This year, 3.26 lakhs tourists visited Borra Caves during the period as against 2.59 lakhs during the period last year.
