Three murdered

An armed gang is said to have murdered three persons, including two brothers, at Mela Anuppanadi in Avaniapuram police station limits on Tuesday.

Police identified the victims as S. Marimuthu (31), S. Moorthy (33) and V. Ramesh of Kamarajarpuram. Superintendent of Police (Madurai Rural) S. Manoharan said that special teams had been formed to nab the accused. Preliminary enquiries revealed that the deceased, accused in a murder case, were acquitted in October. It is suspected that the murder could have been an act of revenge.
