VISAKHAPATNAM: The surveillance audit of Andhra University as per the ISO 9001:2000 certification norms commenced with two lead auditors from TUV-SUD, the certificating agency, starting the work on Tuesday. The lead auditors Mohan Khandate and Sailesh Dhomme would conduct the academic audit and also verify the quality management systems offered by AU in the design of curriculum, syllabus and regulations and the eligibility norms into undergraduate, PG and research programmes. The team would also inspect the admission procedures, teaching, examinations, evaluation and publication of results and assess the infrastructure facilities created with sponsored research programmes and consultancy services. Coordinator of Internal Quality Assessment Cell of AU and management representative S. Ganapati informed that the ISO lead auditors would audit the affiliations granted by AU’s College Development Council and the programmes conducted by the colleges. The lead auditors held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana, Rector B. Parvateeswara Rao, Registrar P.V.G.D. Reddy, Principals of campus colleges, Deans and HoDs.
