Alappuzha beats Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: Alappuzha set Kottayam a target of 218 runs after declaring its second innings at 124 for seven and bowled the host out for 77 runs in the South Zone under-14 inter-district cricket tournament at the St. Ephreme’s school ground on Tuesday.

Alappuzha took home five points from the tie.

The scores: Alappuzha 137 & 124 for seven decl. in 44 overs bt Kottayam 44 & 77 in 46.5 overs (Sreejith four for 27).

Thiruvananthapuram 222 & 76 for six in 13 overs (Amal S. Kumar three for 42) drew with Pathanamthitta 80 & 261 in 87 overs (Karthik 55, Justin Joseph 41, Prem Sagar three for 47, Ajay Sharma three for 55).
