ALIGARH: An allround performance by Abinesh Sharma, who followed up a six-wicket haul with a half-century, helped Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, to a thrilling one-wicket victory over Jamia Millia Islamia in the quarterfinals of the North Zone inter-University cricket tournament at the Aligarh Muslim University ground here. In another quarterfinal, Delhi University defeated Punjab University, Chandigarh by 149 runs. The scores: Delhi University 261 in 73 overs (Shray Chaudhary 59, Rahul Yadav 44) bt Punjab University, Chandigarh 112 in 45 overs (Raman Chahar four for 27, Chandrapal Saini four for 30). Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, 194 in 73 overs (Ankur 69, Abinesh Sharma six for 49) lost to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, 195 for nine in 64 overs (Abinesh Sharma 56, Samar Qadri three for 35).
