COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan military on Tuesday claimed to have “extended their full domination” over the Periyakulam hamlet, situated four km east of strategically located Nadunkerni town in Wanni. In a statement, the Defence Ministry said here soldiers continued their westward thrust from Otiyamalai advanced for about one km eliminating all LTTE hideouts up to the Periyakulam hamlet. “Defence observers are in the view that the Army’s counter terrorist operations in the area will greatly help the civilians under terror clutches to move into the government controlled areas”.
