‘They were acts against humanity’

Bangalore: The Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike, a forum consisting of several organisations working for communal harmony in the State, and the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) have condemned the Mumbai terror attacks calling it acts against humanity.

In a press release, the forum demanded that an impartial investigation be conducted and punishment meted out to the criminals. It was important that religious fundamentalism in all religious communities be condemned and that no specific community should be made a target or be held responsible for the terror attacks.

The press release said that action should t be taken against those forces in the country who were disturbing the peace and security of the country.

More than 500 activists belonging to the vedike and the forum took part in a protest organised at Town Hall.

N.V. Narasimhaiah, vice-president, Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity, K.L. Ashok, secretary of the State KKSV, Maulana Usman Baig, KFD, Veerasangaiah, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Mariswamy, Dalit Christian Federation, and Fr. Kumaraswamy, All India Christian Council, spoke.
