SICHREM programme
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: About 60 years ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). In the wake of the recent terror attacks in Mumbai, the question of human rights becomes even more crucial, as Father Ambrose Pinto, Principal of St. Joseph’s College, pointed out at an International Human Rights Day celebration.
A 10-day programme, which ends on December 10 — the anniversary of UDHR — has been put together by the South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Motivation (SICHREM) along with colleges such as Indian Social Institute, St. Joseph’s, Mount Carmel College and Jain College.
