Kerala MP seeks new intelligence agency

Staff Reporter

PALAKKAD: N.N. Krishnadas, MP, who had a miraculous escape from the terrorist attack on Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, has urged the Union government to set up an intelligence agency to monitor terrorist activities from outside the country, which has become a major threat to the country.

Mr. Krishnadas told The Hindu here on Tuesday that intelligence agencies such as the Research and Analysis Wing and the Intelligence Bureau failed to get advance information on terrorist attacks in Mumbai in 1993 and since then, in all major cities. He said he would raise in Parliament the need for such a modern agency to protect the country.
