Excess energy charges cut

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has cut excess demand and energy charges for industrial and commercial consumers imposed by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board with effect from Friday.

It has moderated the excess demand for high-tension industrial and commercial consumers to Rs.900 per KVA (Rs.1,500).

The excess consumption charge for HT industrial consumers has been pegged at Rs.10.50 a unit (Rs.14), while for HT commercial consumers, it is Rs.15 per unit (Rs.20).
