Electoral rolls: submission of forms conclude

Updating information: The submission of forms progressing at Salem Corporation office on Tuesday. –

SALEM: The collection of forms for the inclusion of names, deletion, correction and change of address in the photo electoral rolls ended in all the assembly constituencies in the district on Tuesday.

A large number of people submitted the Form 6, 7, 8 and 8A at designated polling stations in the district on Tuesday. Many polling stations in Salem (North) and Salem (South) assembly segments saw people waiting in queues to submit the forms. The Salem Corporation deputed more personnel for the collection of forms. Over 8,500 people have applied in Form 6 for inclusion of names in Salem (North) and Salem (South) segments till December 1. The civic body has launched a door-to-door exercise to verify the claims made in the forms. Corporation Commissioner K.S. Palanisamy said the exercise would be completed in a week.
