Ayyappa puja performed

TIRUNELVELI: Ayyappa puja was performed at Anuvijay Township of Koodankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) recently.

The 2-weeklong celebrations, which commenced on the first day of the Malayalam month Vrischikam (November 16) and concluded on November 29 with a splendid display of the folk art forms of Kerala including Thayambaka (classical percussion orchestra on Chenda), Chenda melam, Ardhanareeshwara dance, procession with caparisoned elephant, Thalappoli etc., Thalappoli was inaugurated by K.C. Purohit, Project Director, KKNPP.

A mega musical concert was also organized on November 30 as part of the celebrations. Anuvijay Township has been organizing Ayyappa Pooja celebrations since the beginning of the project activities at KKNPP in 2002 and various art forms of Kerala like Theyyam, Kathakali, classical percussion ensemble etc. are being performed at the Township by renowned artists brought from various parts of Kerala.
