NIZAMABAD: Relatives and activists of certain student organisations went on the rampage at Pragathi Hospital here on Tuesday following the death of one K. Siva, 19. He was operated upon in the morning. The protestors demanded compensation to the victim’s family from the hospital management holding the doctors responsible for his death. The student leaders belonging to SFI, ABVP and TNSF accused the doctors of gross negligence in taking post operative measures resulting in the death of the Siva, who was studying senior Intermediate in the CSI Junior College. Hospital representative Ravinder Rao denied the allegation and said the student responded to the treatment initially, but suddenly developed problem as his pulse had gone down. There was no “carelessness” on the part of the doctors, he said. Speaking to The Hindu, one town Sub-Inspector S. Lakshminarayana said that Siva, who belonged to Manikbandar village, was injured in a road accident at Suddulam village in Dichpally mandal on Sunday night and admitted to the hospital.
