Two sex workers rescued

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police on Monday rescued two women, who were allegedly forced into prostitution by a gang in Hyderabad, after raiding a brothel at Balkampet in S.R. Nagar. While a woman Swetha, charged with abetting the three persons organising the brothel was arrested, a hunt was on to nab the latter, the police said.

The two women rescued by the police hailed from Mumbai. They were shifted to a rescue home. According to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police Inspector Ch. Srinivas, a police patrol party caught two youths moving with a woman under suspicious circumstances in their area on Sunday night.

On questioning, the woman told them that she was brought to Hyderabad from Mumbai and forced into prostitution by Raju, Subbu and Venkat Reddy. Based on her statement, the police raided the brothel in Balkampet, rescued another woman and took into custody Swetha.
