Medico caught with airgun at airport, let off

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Police detained a medico for sometime after they found him travelling in a four-wheeler with an air rifle near the passenger terminal of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).

The medico, Mohd. Naseeruddin, was let off after questioning, the police said.

The car in which Naseeruddin and his friends were travelling was stopped for checking when the police teams found the air rifle in the car. Police said it is not an offence to carry an air rifle. Neither does the owner require a licence for it. Naseerudding is a student of Sri Venkata Sai Medical College in Mahabubnagar. He was returning to the city with friends after attending a programme in the college.
