Plea for hi-tech crematorium
HYDERABAD: Several GHMC officials on Monday took up inspection of the civic works being taken up by Rotary Club in the cremation grounds located at Banjara Hills Road No-3, a release from the members of Punjagutta Hindu Shmashana Vatika Parirakshana Committee (Cremation Grounds Protection Committee) said.
GHMC Special Commissioner Praveen Prakash, Additional Commissioner (Planning) Khanna Babu, along with several officials from the engineering wing of GHMC, visited the cremation grounds on Monday. The Rotary Club is coming up with a hi-tech electric crematorium at the cremation grounds, the release said.
The members of the Cremation Grounds Protection Committee requested the GHMC officials to hasten the project of hi-tech crematorium at the cremation grounds. The committee members said that the Special Commissioner and other officials reacted positively to their appeals.
The committee members requested the GHMC officials to set up similar hi-tech crematoriums at other parts of twin cities. The members said that the GHMC authorities had assured them of all possible help.
