BANGALORE: A couple survived a suicide attempt while their eight-year-old daughter died of poisoning at their house near Krupanidhi College in Madiwala on Monday.

Police said Ashok, Jayabala and their daughter, Trisha, were found lying on the bed in a critical condition by a relative who had come by for lunch.

The three were taken to St. John’s Hospital where Trisha died. The condition of Ashok, who runs a small scale industry in Whitefield, and Jayabala, a lecturer, is precarious.

The Madiwala police are yet to find the motive for the suicide attempt. The police are waiting for Ashok’s parents to arrive from Coimbatore.
