When students cheered with delight

HYDERABAD: There can not be a child that does not look forward to entertaining the teachers on September 5, the Teachers’ Day.

However, the kids of Baratiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills had altogether a different experience on November 14 when their teachers shed their habitual sternness for a while and engaged the students with cultural programmes. They danced and enacted plays and skits while the students cheered with sheer delight. ‘Paramanandayya Sishyula Katha’ and ‘Mini Show’ were notable among the plays while a dance ballet depicting Lord Krishna and Radha in Brindavan stood as the highlight of the day. Gypsy dance by the teachers was another surprise. A fusion of classical and western music was presented by the students too. Principal C. Rama Devi urged the students to imbibe the values of discipline, sacrifice, patience and perseverance.

Vignana Jyothi

Vallurupalli Rattaiah Seethamma and Vignana Jyothi Residential School, Bachupally was stage for the CBSE Cluster VII Athletic Meet, 2008-09 from November 8 to 10. The meet was inaugurated on November 8 by the Chief Guest Dr. Venkataratnam, who hoisted the school’s flag. It was followed by the March Past of 56 participating schools and the lighting of the torch. Badminton star Pullela Gopichand was the chief guest on the closing ceremony on November 10. He gave away certificates and awards.

St. Ann’s High School

EDUFEST – 2008, a grand gala exhibition was organised by St. Ann’s High School on November 29 and 30 at its Bolarum premises.

It was inaugurated by K. Srinivasan, deputy regional general manager, circulation The Hindu, Hyderabad and P. Sirish Kumar, branch manager of State Bank of Hyderabad, Bolarum.
