NABARD aid for State projects
HYDERABAD: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned 127 road, two bridge, 99 zilla parishad high schools and 11 rural water supply projects, involving a loan assistance of Rs. 298.46 crore to the State government.
The projects will be taken up in 21 districts and implemented by the Panchayat Raj Engineering and Tribal Welfare Engineering departments.
A press release issued by the bank here on Monday said the projects would benefit 579 villages, with a population of 5.3 lakh. They would provide all-weather access to 263 marketing centres/mandal headquarters.
Road, bridge projects
The road and bridge projects are supported under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.
They are estimated to provide 60.35 lakh mandays of non-recurring employment opportunities.
The Zilla Parishad High School Programme will be taken up in 17 districts.
The programme is likely to generate non-recurring employment of 12.52 lakh mandays and additional enrolment of 11,880 students, the press release said.
