Farm debt relief Act amended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Assembly on Monday passed a Bill amending the Kerala Farmers’ Debt Relief Commission Act of 2008 to provide for the inclusion of two more farmers’ representatives in the commission.

The Bill seeks to replace an ordinance that had already been promulgated for the purpose. The original Act provides for the inclusion of two farmers’ representatives in the five-member commission. Now it will have four farmers’ representatives in a seven-member commission. Presenting the Bill, Revenue Minister K.P.
