Panel to coordinate relief works

CHENNAI: The government has constituted a six-member committee headed by Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin to monitor and speed up flood relief operations.

It will co-ordinate the relief works by various departments and ensure speedy implementation, a government release stated.

The members are, PWD and Law Minister Durai Murugan, Transport and Agriculture Minister K.N. Nehru, Revenue and Housing Minister I.Periyasamy, Health Minister M.R.K. Panneeselvam and Highways Minister Vellakoil Saminathan.

The first meeting of the committee will be held on December 2 at the Secretariat. — Special Correspondent
