Sonbhadra (UP): A top naxal, carrying a reward of Rs.20,000 on his head, was killed in an encounter with security personnel in Belach village, the police said on Monday. Shatrughan, a self-styled area commander, was shot dead during an operation by the police and the Special Operation Group personnel on Sunday night, SP Ramkumar said. A revolver, a double barrel gun and cartridges were recovered from his possession. Some of his associates, however, escaped. The police suspect that they might have been injured in the encounter and a manhunt has been launched for them.
