GULBARGA: A rally to mark World AIDS Day was flagged off here by Shailaja Sharanabhupal Reddy, Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat president, on Monday. The rally proceeded from the District Hospital to the Town Hall on the city corporation premises. The rally was jointly organised by the zilla panchayat, the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society, Bangalore. Members of Divya Jeevana Sangha, World Vision India, St. Luke Health Centre, the Centre for Advocacy and Research, students of the homoeopathy college run by the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society, and health workers participated. District Health and Family Welfare Officer Nalini Namoshi, District Surgeon Sulochana Minch, District AIDS Nodal Officer Sharanabasappa Ganajalakhed and others were present. SlogansAlong the way, members raised slogans to create awareness among people on HIV/AIDS.
