Belgaum
Belgaum: World AIDS Day here on Monday was marked by a procession of volunteers and workers of various voluntary organisations/non-governmental organisations, students and NCC cadets from different colleges. The procession aimed at creating awareness against HIV/AIDS was supported by the district administration, the Belgaum Zilla Panchayat and the Health Department. It was led by Belgaum-based Sri Shakthi De-Addiction cum Rehabilitation Centre. The protestors carried placards with appeals to people on safe sex practices and steps to prevent HIV/AIDS, alcoholism and drug abuse.
