KORAPUT: Quality education could not be ensured in schools if the existing number of teachers available in the schools is not improved, Prasant Kumar Das, DPC, SSA/DPEP, Koraput said while attending the workshop being organised by Koraput District Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (KDCRCC) Union on quality education at Koraput. He urged the CRCCs to cooperate the district administration in promoting the measures to increase the attendance of teachers in schools, so as to implement the programmes and policies of the government successfully at the grassroots level. Highlighting the importance of active participation of teachers and the education managers at different levels, Atulya Pattnaik from DIET said that such participation could alone support the implementation of quality education in the district. Ashok Kumar Pangi, president of Koraput Zilla Parishad, who attended as the chief guest, reiterated his faith in the strength of the teachers and the CRCCs in carrying out the mission of ‘education for all’, a success. Responding to the worries of the union regarding the possible re-structuring of the team of CRCCs by the administration in the district. He however, cautioned on the serious implications on the move to spread quality education for the fear of losing the experienced and talented persons at the grassroots level if the decision to restructure the system with the introduction of new faces.
