Tension as VHP activists are held

Bangalore: There was tension near Seppings Road for a while on Sunday when the Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) activists were about to take out a Shobha Yatre. The city police had taken precautions and stopped the rally. They detained former MLA Nirmal Kumar Surana, MLA S. Raghu and 26 activists. They were, however, released later. VHP conducted a Dharma Jagruti Sabhe on BBMP Grounds in Lingarajapuram and took out the Shobha Yatre via Nagawara Main Road. The police have enforced Section 144.
