BIDAR: Some unidentified persons allegedly defiled a cross at Joladhapaka village of Bhalki taluk on Saturday night leading to tense moments in the village on Sunday morning. The miscreants threw cowdung on the cross which was placed on a pedestal in front of a church at the village. Dhannura police officials led by sub-inspector Adiveppa Banni visited the spot. He assured the villagers that erring persons would be arrested soon. A case has been registered with Dhannura police. The situation at the village is peaceful, according to the police. — Staff Correspondent
