BANGALORE: A 14-year-old boy who was kidnapped by his relatives on November 19 was rescued by the Hoskote police on Saturday. V. Kiran Kumar is an eighth standard student of Swami Vivekananda High School at Hoskote. Harish, Rayan alias Babu and M. Santhosh have been arrested in this connection. According to the police, the boy’s father Venkataramanappa, a resident of Kattugollahalli, recently sold his land for a huge sum and this made the accused to hatch a plan to kidnap the boy. Kiran Kumar was abducted when he was on his way home from school. The accused made several calls to Venkataramanappa and demanded Rs. 50 lakh for releasing the boy. Two killedTwo employees of Bata Factory in Peenya died on the spot when their two-wheeler fell into a ditch on NTTF Road on Friday. The victims have been identified as Rasheed (50) and Ahamed (50), who were staying near Modi Hospital. The accident occurred near Abhimani petrol station on NTTF Road. As it was raining, they could not spot the ditch. The two who suffered head injuries died on the spot. InjuredTwo women sustained injuries when a metal barrier put up next to a railway over bridge near Okalipuram, partially collapsed after it was dislodged by a private bus on Saturday night. They have been identified as Rajeshwari and Vinutha, residents of Srirampuram. Rajeshwari has been admitted to NIMHANS. According to the police, the incident took place because the bus had been loaded above the permissible height. The metal barriers were put up on either side of the railway bridge to prohibit passage of vehicles of a specified height.
