Protest against ferry service cancellation

KOCHI: The West Kochi Passengers’ Association has taken strong exception to the cancellation of passenger ferry services from Mattancherry to Ernakulam in the wake of arrangements for the Volvo Ocean Race.

The association president S. Padmanabha Mallya said that ordinary people of Mattancherry, who used to depend on boat services to reach Willingdon Island and Ernakulam, are finding it difficult to reach their destination, as a result. The District Collector must intervene and set things right, he said in a press release.
