Australia in control

Adelaide: Michael Hussey and Ricky Ponting scored half-centuries to take Australia to 241 for three at stumps on the second day of the second cricket Test against New Zealand, here on Saturday.

Earlier, New Zealand was dismissed for 270 in its first innings.

Hussey and Ponting put on 106 runs for the third-wicket before the skipper’s pull shot off Iain O’Brien found Peter Fulton at mid-wicket. Ponting’s 124-ball 79 was studded with 13 boundaries.
