Unanimous decision CFA representative attends meeting CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Football Association (TFA) has unanimously decided to nominate C.R. Visswanathan for the election to the Vice-President’s post at the AIFF General Body meeting to be held in New Delhi on December 23. This was decided at the TFA Central Council meeting here on Saturday. Mr. Visswanathan, who is the Vice-President of the Federation and President of the Coimbatore FA, had the support of various district units. The CFA, which had not been attending the association meetings, was represented this time by the Secretary E. Sugumaran, who also endorsed support to Mr. Visswanathan. The TFA Secretary, R. Sadatcharam, will attend the New Delhi meeting as the official delegate. According to D.S. Sivasamy, Treasurer, TFA, the meeting, which was chaired by President Cletus Babu, was told of AIFF’s decision to allot Tamil Nadu the next edition of the Santosh Trophy National championship in May 2009, subject to Goa withdrawing its bid. It was also decided to hold the u-14 girls football festival at the Hindustan Engineering College from December 22 to January 2. CFA league resumptionMeanwhile, the Chennai Football Association decided to give time for the Nehru stadium turf to dry up and resume the St. Joseph’s-senior division league and the first division league only from December 3.
