Holy Spirit festival on Dec. 1 and 2

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Special prayers for the common good of society will be conducted at Mahboob College Grounds in Secunderabad on December 1 and 2 as part of ‘Holy Spirit festival’.

The festival, to be organised by a State-wide organisation United Churches and Pastors Fellowship would begin at 6 p.m. on both the days.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, State president of the organisation Rev. Nehemiah S. Rao said prayers would be held for country’s prosperity and peace and stabilisation of financial situation.

Devotees would be led by Bro. Yesenna from Guntur and Bro. Rajababu from Krishna district, he said.

According to Mr. Rao the prayers at the festival aim at ushering in happiness into people’s lives, in wake of recent troubled times.

“There is also a need to address the issue of fostering human values that are on decay,” he felt.

Some of the followers who have been on fasting for the past 100 days will break their fast during the festival, organisers said. People from various backgrounds, irrespective of their religious or caste affiliations, can attend the festival.
