Rourkela: Relatives of a 45-year-old undertrial who died at Rourkela Government Hospital has alleged negligence by jail authorities. Jail sources said the undertrial, Subasini Barik, who was in jail in connection with a dowry torture case, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after she fell ill. She died of brain haemorrhage yesterday. Meanwhile, Subasini’s family members alleged that her death was due to negligence of jail authorities who failed to admit her in hospital on time and provide her with proper medical treatment. The family members demanded a financial compensation of Rs 10 lakh and insisted on keeping the body at the hospital.
