BHUBANESWAR: Vigilance wing of State police on Saturday detected huge properties from a senior officer of the Orissa Administrative Service cadre. Receiving allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets by Benudhar Dash, who was presently posted as additional secretary with Orissa State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA), vigilance sleuths conducted raids on his official residence in Unit-VI, office chamber and own house in Niladri Vihar area here on Saturday. His paternal house located in Bhadrak district and father-in-law’s houses in Balasore were simultaneously searched by officers of vigilance directorate on the strength of search warrant issued by court, a statement issued by vigilance department said here. While anti-corruption wing officials found hard cash of Rs. 97,500 during search, movable assets, costly household articles and gold ornaments were also detected. The department said Mr. Dash had deposits of around Rs. 7 lakh in different banks. More importantly, the senior officer at OSDMA had found six housing plots in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Bhadrak besides two buildings at Balasore and Bhubaneswar.
