KARIMNAGAR: APSRTC Chairman and Karimnagar legislator M Satyanarayana Rao on Saturday was all praise for Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy for the all round development of the State in general and the farming community in particular. Participating in the distribution of cash incentive of Rs. 5,000 each to the farmers of Karimnagar mandal on Saturday, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao said that Mr. Rajasekhara Reddy was the first Chief Minister in the country to take up such developmental programmes in Andhra Pradesh State since Independence. He said that the government had announced free power to farmers, waived crop loans, providing incentives to the farmers, who had repaid the loans, increased the minimum support price to the farmers produce, constructing houses under Indiramma, executing pending irrigation projects and other schemes. The RTC Chairman and others had distributed debit vouchers to about 3,467 farmers worth over Rs 1.67 crore on the occasion. Markfed chairman Ponnam Prabhakar, KDCCB chairman K Ravinder Rao, ZP chairman Arepalli Mohan, Karimnagar market committee chairman Y Sunil Rao and others were also present.
