Undertrial prisoner escapes from custody

PUDUKOTTAI: An undertrial prisoner, Vinodh (20), escaped from police custody at Madurai on Friday. Police said that the prisoner was taken to Madurai for a trial in connection with a theft case. At the bus stand in Madurai, he made good his escape under the pretext of attending nature’s call, police said. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
