Rahul hits century

VISAKHAPATNAM: An unbeaten century by K.L. Rahul helped Karnataka take the first innings lead over Vidarbha on the second day of the four-day Cooch Behar Trophy under-19 elite group ‘B’ cricket tournament here on Saturday.

In another match, medium-pacer Jaskaran Singh picked up five wickets to help Punjab restrict Rajasthan to 242 in the first innings.

Play called off

In Chennai, the second day’s play of both the matches (TN vs. Saurashtra and Baroda vs. U.P.) was called off on Saturday due to rain.

The scores: At Vizag: Vidarbha 219 vs. Karnataka 270 for four in 83 overs (K.L. Rahul 101 batting, Mayank Agarwal 55, Karun Nayar 54, Pawan Deshpandhe 45 batting).

Rajastan 242 (Ashok Menaria 93, Azaruddin Khan 57, Jaskaran Singh five for 81) vs. Punjab 175 for five in 61 overs (Saradh Lumba 67, Mandeep Singh 31 batting, Azaruddin Khan hree for 40.
