Swamy demands commission to probe attacks

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Janata Party leader, Subramanian Swamy, on Saturday demanded the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry to go into the attacks by terrorists in Mumbai.

In a statement here, he said the Commission should inquire as to how such an attack could be executed, its financing sources, patronage abroad and local support for the perpetrators of the crime. What was significant was that one of the terrorists was holding Participatory Notes(PNs). He said the Union Finance Minister, P.Chidambaram, should be dismissed for refusing to discontinue PNs despite the Tarapore Committee recommendations to do so.
