Excess energy charges reduced

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has reduced excess demand and energy charges for industrial and commercial consumers imposed by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board with effect from Friday.
According to a release, the commission has moderated the excess demand for high-tension industrial and commercial consumers to Rs.900 per KVA (Rs.1,500). The excess consumption charge for HT industrial consumers has been pegged at Rs.10.50 a unit (Rs.14), while for HT commercial consumers, it is Rs.15 per unit (Rs.20). It has lowered the excess energy charges for LTCT industrial consumers to Rs.14.10 per unit (Rs.18.80) and for LTCT commercial consumers to Rs.17.40 (Rs.23.20).
