Order against Registrar stayed

KOZHIKODE: The Calicut University Registrar said in a release here that the Kerala High Court on Friday stayed the implementation of an order of the State Information Commission asking the registrar to pay a fine of Rs.3,500 and a compensation of Rs.5,000 for not furnishing an information in the stipulated time under the Right to Information (RTI) Act and for not appearing when the case was taken up. The High Court issued the interim stay on a writ petition filed before it by the Registrar. — Staff Reporter
