Gang of eight arrested

OMALUR: Police arrested eight persons in connection with a series of housebreakings in and around Omalur for the past five months.

A special team nabbed the gang members from the areas of Omalur and Salem. The gang stole cash, jewellery and other valuables from nearly 50 houses. They also had stolen eight computers from a school in Ariyalur district and sold them here.

Further investigation is going on.
