Lifer for TDP leader, 5 others in murder case

ANANTAPUR: Six persons including TDP leader in Tadipatri constituency, Maheshwar Reddy, were sentenced life imprisonment by the Sixth Fast Track Court at Gooty in the district on Friday, in a murder case dating back to July 1997.
According to the information, an advocate from Pedda Vaduguru village, Sivaprasada Reddy, practicing in Gooty courts was waylaid and attacked with hunting sickles near Miduthuru, when he was returning home from court.
Senior Civil Judge Raghava Rao pronounced the judgment after completing examination of witnesses and finding the six accused guilty of murder and criminal conspiracy. Meanwhile, suspecting untoward incidents the police arranged pickets in Chinna Vaduguru and Pedda Vaduguru villages.
