Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: Senior Communist Party of India leader Atul Kumar Anjaan has mourned the demise of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh terming him the messiah of the poor.

He was a constant supporter of the Left after demitting the post of the Prime Minister and a vocal critic of the Indo-US nuclear deal, Mr. Anjaan said here. “By his death the downtrodden and the Left have lost an ardent supporter and lauded leader,” he added.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje termed Mr. Singh as a person who lived a simple and committed life.
