Tension at DC’s office

Staff Correspondent

Chitradurga: Tension prevailed for some time at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Friday when several members of the Sangh Parivar forced their way into the office to submit a memorandum.

Members of the Sangh Parivar were out on the streets supporting a protest rally organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to condemn the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

The members had gathered outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office to submit a memorandum to the official. Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas, who was holding a meeting inside, sent Assistant Commissioner Venkatesh to collect the document.

The agitators, who were determined to submit it only to Mr. Biswas, preferred to wait outside. After 10 minutes, they marched towards his office shouting slogans against the official. Some protesters entered his office by climbing over the railings of the staircase when the police tried to prevent them.Soon, they were followed by many other agitators with the police making futile attempts to control them.
