Young World painting finals postponed

CHENNAI: The finals of The Hindu - Young World (on-the-spot) Painting Competition-2008 for Juniors (Classes IV to VII) and Seniors (Classes VIII to X) scheduled for Sunday, November 30, at the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, No 29, Alagirisamy Salai, K.K. Nagar, Chennai 600078, have been postponed owing to inclement weather and water logging in several areas in and around the city. The event will be held on December 7, 2008, at the same venue from 9 a.m.

All the candidates selected in the preliminary round have been sent individual letters.

The participants should reach the venue at least 30minutes before the start of the competition, and should bring along with them the letter and the painting material.

Prizes will be distributed to the winners the same afternoon. Apart from prizes for first, second and third places, there are also 10 consolation prizes.
