KRISHNAGIRI: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has urged the district administration to retrieve Panchami lands from encroachers and give it back to the Dalits.
In a demonstration held in front of the Collectorate here on Friday, the party workers demanded that the Dalit and tribal areas in the district provided with crematoriums, roads and street lights. They also urged the authorities to establish electric crematoriums.
The State government should implement the Hogenekkal Drinking Water Scheme immediately. The Centre should take initiative for immediate ceasefire in Sri Lanka and find a solution to the ethnic crisis in the island nation, the workers said.
They wanted the police authorities to stop filing false cases against the party cadres and district level leaders.
About 100 VCK cadres participated in the demonstration.
District secretary K. Kovendan presided.
