Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Unit of the Tamil Nadu Traffic Wardens Organisation is organising a friendly five competitions exclusively for the Road Safety Patrol (RSP) students of Coimbatore. The contest will be conducted at Nirmala College for Women Auditorium, Red Fields, on November 29 from 8.30 a.m. A release from A. Mahesh, Chief Traffic Warden, said that 1,502 RSP students from 43 schools will participate in the event wherein City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali will distribute RSP uniforms to select Corporation School students and release the RSP handbook. The event is sponsored by Roots Industries Limited, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Spectrum and Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Symphony. Contest will be on five road safety rules, violations and remedy such as signal jumping, lane discipline, right of way, pedestrian crossing practices and emergency and special zone safety such as school and hospitals besides the culture of giving way for emergency vehicles. The nature of competitions will be essay writing, painting, oratory, written quiz, rangoli, street play, mono acting and road safety poem reciting besides display competitions would include painting, 3D modelling, slogan writing, collage and photography.
